Three swords pierce a red heart suspended against rain and gray clouds. The heart bleeds, but it is not broken; it is being pierced. Pain arriving without anesthesia: betrayal, loss, the word that lodged exactly where it hurt most. Yet the swords are also truth—three truths the heart needed to know.
Air
The sign (upright): Sharp emotional pain. A betrayal, a loss, a word that split you in two. This card does not say it should not hurt; it says pain is real and has something to teach. The three swords represent truths you needed to hear, even if they arrived cruelly. Allow yourself to feel. Sadness is not weakness; it is the heart's natural response to what pierced it. But remember that the swords were not driven in to kill you. They were driven in to wake you. Behind the rain, the horizon is beginning to clear.
“I feel pain without hiding from it. This wound is showing me something I need to know. My heart keeps beating, and that is my victory.”
Shadow prompt
It hurts. Move through the pain fully. What is not cried settles in.
A symbolic gesture
Draw a heart on paper. Inside, write three things that hurt. Outside, write three things you learned. Tear the paper into tiny pieces and throw them away. No one can take what you learned.
